In short: To say "I'm just joking", say ഞാൻ തമാശ പറഞ്ഞതാ (njaan thamasha paranjathaa). "Just kidding" is വെറുതെ പറഞ്ഞതാ (veruthe paranjathaa). തമാശ (thamasha) = joke/fun.
