How to Say "Turn On" and "Turn Off" in Malayalam

On aakku / Off aakku — Turn on / Turn off

In short: The everyday way to say "turn on" is ഓൺ ആക്ക് (on aakku) and "turn off" is ഓഫ് ആക്ക് (off aakku). For lights specifically: ലൈറ്റ് ഇടൂ (light idoo) ("put the light on"), ലൈറ്റ് കെടുത്തൂ (light keduthoo) ("switch the light off").

When & how to use it

English "on/off" + aakku ("make it") is how most people say it. For lights, idoo (put on) / keduthoo (put out) also work.
